The TW-RobLayer 02-I is a 4-axis, overhead CNC handling gantry used to automatically fill wood-frame construction elements with loose-fill insulation. A blow-in insulation plate is mounted on the handling gantry, which is used to automatically blow insulation into the cavities of the elements. The entire blow-in system—including insulation supply, hose feed, blow-in plate, and blow-in programs—is supplied by the system vendor on the customer’s site.
The handling gantry is compact and space-saving in design and moves along a separate rail system. Since the TW-RobLayer fits snugly around the gantry to save space, additional TW gantry robots can be “passed over” on the line. This means that every point on the line can be reached not only with the TW portal robot but also with the TW-RobLayer handling portal.
The portal control systems are linked together so that the insulation process is only briefly interrupted when a TW portal robot passes through. This ensures maximum efficiency and processing flexibility on the production line.
Automated production is possible even in facilities with limited space. The system has a modular design and can be customized to meet specific customer requirements. Additional components can be added to the TW-ConceptLine production line at a later stage. Using the TW-RobLayer as a panel loader is another option—in this case, a suitable panel-handling device is installed in place of the blow-in panel.
The CAM system retrieves the data required for automatic operation from the available CAD design data and transmits it to the TW-RobLayer system controller. Automatic operation minimizes the amount of manual labor required for insulation work at the table.
